Monrovia has its share of bears, not only the ones that roam Monrovia streets from time to time but also the numerous concrete versions that can be found around town. Add one more to the collection - the Steve Baker bear. Steve Baker passed away in 2022, and the community chose this visible reminder of the longtime city treasurer and historian's many contributions to the city where he spent almost all of his life. The bear is located at the southeast corner of Foothill Boulevard and Myrtle Avenue. It sports a top hat and tails, the outfit Steve always wore on the day of the historic homes tour (as well as many other occasions).
